To whet your appetite I’m excited to share with you the menu I will be cooking up on the day.

The Chicken and the Egg – Bank holiday BBQ Pop-Up

Presented by – The Shropshire Lad

30th March (Good Friday)

From 1pm till it’s gone…

 

Bad-Ass BBQ Scotch Egg, Pit Beans, Bread & Butter – 6.5

Egg on its own (GF) – 4

Beans & Bread/Toast (Vegan) – 3

A free range Shropshire egg, encased in Gloucestershire Old Spot pork sausage meat and wrapped in streaky bacon, smoked over cherry wood and glazed with my own spiced apple BBQ sauce. Served up with my low and slow smoked pit beans, and proper bread and butter to mop it up with. A British classic with American BBQ influence.

 

Wicked Chicken Kebab – 6

Free Range Chicken thigh fillets marinated for 24 hours in gentle herbs and spices, then loaded up on a rotisserie and cooked over coals. Served up in a pitta with crunchy salad, salsa and a selection of homemade sauces and pickles. We suggest you do things in reverse and order the kebab before you’re drunk – you will want to remember this one!

 

Shropshire Lad’s apple wood smoked Halloumi (V) – 5

Halloumi cheese, cold smoked in my backyard over apple wood for a deliciously unique flavour and finished over coals. Served up in a pitta with crunchy salad, salsa and a selection of homemade sauces and pickles. You eint never tasted Halloumi like this before.

 

Spicy Free range BBQ chicken wings – 4

Spicy, BBQ chicken wings hit with some smoke and grilled over wood fire. Super moreish.
